We are back and ready to kick 2024 off with our A.I. predictions for UFC 297. The A.I. ended 2023 on a hell of a streak, going 9-0-1 over the last two PPV events, and going 36-10-2 overall. let's get into the predictions for UFC 297, and see if A.I. can go undefeated for three events in a row.

Main Event:

  • Sean Strickland (c) vs. Dricus du Plessis: This middleweight title fight presents a clash of styles. Strickland is a pressure fighter with relentless volume, while du Plessis is a counter-striker with explosive power. I expect a tactical battle early, with Strickland looking to wear down du Plessis and du Plessis waiting for the perfect counter. Ultimately, I see Strickland retaining his title via unanimous decision. His constant pressure and grit might overcome du Plessis' power shots.

Co-Main Event:

  • Raquel Pennington vs. Mayra Bueno Silva (Vacant Women's Bantamweight Championship): This fight for the vacant Bantamweight crown is tough to call. Pennington is a veteran with good boxing and takedowns, while Silva is a powerful striker with strong grappling. I think Pennington's experience and clinch work will be key, but Silva's knockout potential can't be ignored. It's a toss-up, but I'm siding with Pennington by narrow decision. Her wrestling defense and pressure could be the difference-maker.

Other Main Card Bouts:

  • Marc-André Barriault vs. Chris Curtis: A clash of two light heavyweights with contrasting styles. Barriault is a volume striker with good cardio, while Curtis is a more technical boxer with knockout power. I lean towards Barriault via decision. His relentless pressure and cardio may grind Curtis down.

  • Neil Magny vs. Mike Malott: A welterweight clash between two veterans looking to climb the rankings. Magny is a well-rounded fighter with good everywhere, while Malott is a powerful wrestler with solid striking. This is another close one, but I favor Magny by late TKO. His experience and diverse skillset might ultimately overwhelm Malott.

  • Arnold Allen vs. Movsar Evloev: This featherweight battle is another close one, but I see Allen edging it out through his technical striking and pressure. He's comfortable standing and throwing volume, while Evloev prefers counter-punching and clinch work. I think Allen's constant activity and willingness to mix it up will wear down Evloev, leading to a TKO finish by Allen in the later rounds.
