His journey into the world of combat sports began at a young age when Marshman started training MMA when he was 15 when his dad introduced him to his friend who is a Shore MMA coach, Richard Shore. After the first MMA training session, Marshman was instantly hooked and spent much of his time in the gym there after.

Marshman joined the army at the age of 17. He served in The 3rd Battalion of the Parachute regiment for 10 years, where he was deployed to Afghanistan. He served as a Paratrooper while fighting MMA professionally. His natural talent and dedication soon became evident as he began to excel in amateur boxing, but it was not long before he transitioned into the world of mixed martial arts.


Amateur Career


Before making his professional debut, Jack Marshman made a short run as an amateur MMA fighter. His amateur record of 1 wins and 1 loss although showcasing his potential in the sport. It was clear that Marshman was destined for a promising professional career.


Professional Debut


Marshman made his professional MMA debut on April 11, 2010, the trajectory of his career changed against Carl Noon at BAMMA 7 winning the vacant Middleweight title got the Welshman noticed. He won the fight via his heavy hands in the third round, signaling his arrival in the MMA world.

2021 PFL Champion, and most recently Sean Strickland became UFC Middleweight Champion defeating the man widely regarded as the best Middleweight in UFC history Israel Adesanya.
