Rico Verhoeven Top of the mountain

GLORY COLLISION 6 was billed one of the biggest events in GLORY history and it did not disappoint. Over 20,000 fans packed into the GelreDome in Arnhem, the Netherlands, on Saturday night, November 4, and enjoyed non-stop action from start to finish.

The ‘King of Kickboxing’ Rico Verhoeven (61-10, 20 KO) made a triumphant return to the GLORY ring after two years away. The 34-year-old defended his position on the throne as King of the heavyweight division, making his eleventh title defense, with a one-sided decision win over power-puncher Tariq ‘Cookie’ Osaro (25-3-1, 13 KO).

In the co-main event, the polarizing Donegi Abena (27-9, 7 KO) made the first defense of his GLORY light heavyweight title with a decision victory over the valiant Mohamed Touchassie (15-1, 12 KO), who was stepping up from middleweight on just four days’ notice.

Rounding out the title fights, middleweight champion Donovan Wisse (20-1, 10 KO) registered his third title defense, and career victory number twenty, with a hard-fought win over the always dangerous Michael Boapeah (16-4-1, 7 KO).

It was a big night for the welterweight division with two important bouts. Morocco’s Hamicha (41-2, 30 KO) made a successful return to GLORY after a lengthy layoff and scored a decision victory over game Frenchman Diaguely Camara (24-5-1, 10 KO) and Chico Kwasi (42-5, 22 KO) got revenge against Jay Overmeer (29-6, 15 KO) in the battle of the rising Dutch stars.

Elsewhere on the main card, DRC’s Ulric Bokeme (32-4, 17 KO) scored a shock upset victory over Turkey’s Serkan Ozcaglayan (45-9, 36 KO), Romania’s Stefan Latescu (17-2, 8 KO) registered a huge KO win over Morocco’s Ibrahim El Bouni (41-9-1, 22 KO), and Mexico’s Abraham Vidales (19-2, 15 KO) stopped Germany’s Ahmad Chikh Mousa (58-9-1, 28 KO) with an electric finish early in the first round.

Lastly, in the ‘House of GLORY’ prelims, Don Sno (3-1, 2 KO) beat Gino Van Steenis (1-1, 1 KO) via TKO, Ismail Ouzgni (4-1, 1 KO) defeated the ranked Robin Ciric (21-7, 7 KO), and we saw Figuereido Landman (2-1) get a decision win over the more experienced Petros Freitas (21-6, 12 KO).
